Cleavage Knotting We were able to create a completely handmade 100% wool rug by Nepalese craftsmen.

Why Nepal?

Langtang Valley, commonly known as the Valley of Flowers, is said to be the most beautiful valley in the Himalayas in the world.
Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, is located in a valley at the foot of the world's highest mountain, Mount Everest, and I felt a connection with the miraculous TANIMA.

The wind from the valleys of Nepal led us to a place that produces rugs.

A passage written into a rug
study to be quiet

The world's oldest fishing book, published approximately 350 years ago.
"The Compleat Angler" (first edition 1653)
Written by Isaac Walton, this book is considered the bible of fishing around the world.

A passage said to have been written in the book
"study to be quiet"

Study tranquility or learn to be calm.

This phrase was translated by the Japanese writer Ken Kaitaka and became popular as it conveys the message that it is the essence of fishing (actually, there are various theories).

study to be quiet
I think each person is free to think about it in their own way.
TANIMA feels something of the Japanese spirit in this word, and it is a message that we keep in mind, and it is also TANIMA's guideline.

While considering portability, we have chosen a size that is compatible with camping furniture.

The wool is water repellent, so any accidental food or drink spills can be quickly wiped away.

You can use it at home, of course, but you can also use it in men's hobby rooms, use it on boats, canoes, and kayaks to enjoy fishing, use it as a lunch mat when camping or picnicking, or use it on the seat of your favorite car. I think there are a wide range of usage scenarios.

What is the production background of Nepali rugs?

Rugs were originally made by people living in subsistence villages in mountainous areas for their own daily lives.

They were handmade by splicing together yak and sheep wool.

Gradually, this handmade culture spread to cities such as Kathmandu through mountaineers.

Each rug is carefully made by hand and is valued around the world and has been passed down as a traditional craft.
